Removal



1. Remove the rear seat cushion.

2. After relieving the pressure in the fuel line, first start the engine, then disconnect the electrical connector of the fuel pump.

Note: Be sure to release the pressure before disconnecting the main line, otherwise fuel will spill out.


3. After stopping the engine, turn off the ignition, then reconnect the fuel pump electrical connector.

4. After disconnecting the high pressure hose and return hose, connect a suitable hose to the fuel pump and pump out fuel from the tank until it is half full.

5. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

6. Raise the car on a lift.

7. Disconnect the filler hose and level hose.

8. Support the fuel tank with a jack.

9. Remove the fuel tank mounting straps.

10. Remove the fuel tank.

Examination



1. Check hoses and pipes for cracks and damage.

2. Check the serviceability of the fuel tank cap.

3. Check the fuel tank for deformation, cracks and corrosion.

4. Check the inside of the fuel tank for dirt and foreign objects.

5. Check the internal fuel tank filter for damage and clogging.



6. Check the operation of the two-way valve.

7. To check the two-way valve, blow lightly into the inlet and outlet ports. If air passes through the valve after a slight resistance, the valve is good.

Installation



1. Make sure the fastening straps are in contact with the fuel tank, then install the fuel tank by tightening the self-locking nuts.

2. Connect the level hose to the fuel tank approximately 40 mm into the filler neck (see picture).

5. To connect the high pressure hose to the fuel pump, tighten the fitting by hand and then tighten it to the torque specified in the specification. Be careful not to kink the hose.
