Disassembly
1. Remove the piston retaining ring with pliers.
2. Remove pusher and piston.
3. Remove piston seat with spring.
Examination
4. Check up absence of burrs and scratches on an internal surface of the cylinder.
5. Check the pipe fitting for cleanliness.
6. Measure the inner diameter of the cylinder and the outer diameter of the piston. Calculate the clearance between the cylinder body and the piston. Gap limit: 0.15 mm.
Note. Measurements should be taken at three levels (top, middle and bottom) in two mutually perpendicular directions.
7. If the backlash is more than limit value, replace the working cylinder and/or the piston.
Assembly
8. Apply brake fluid to the inside of the cylinder (A) and the outer surface of the piston (IN).
9. Install the piston, circlip and follower.
A. Cylinder inner diameter
B. Piston outer diameter
Gap Limit: 0.15mm
