Normal engine start
1. On a vehicle with a manual transmission, set the gearshift lever to the "N" ("Neutral gear") and depress the clutch pedal. On a vehicle with an automatic transmission, place the selector lever in the position "R" ("Parking").
Warning! Make sure you fully depress the clutch pedal before starting a manual transmission engine. Otherwise, there is a risk that if the vehicle jumps forward or backward while starting the engine, this may cause injury or injury to persons outside the vehicle at that moment.
2. Turn the ignition key to position "START" ("Starter"). Release the key when the engine starts. If the engine does not start on the first try, do not keep the starter engaged for more than 15 seconds. Please wait a few seconds before trying again.
Starting a cold engine
1. Press an accelerator pedal against the stop and release it.
Before starting a cold engine, fully depress the accelerator pedal and release it
2. Turn the ignition key to position "START" ("Starter"). Release the key when the engine starts.
Warning! Do not start the engine in gear.
Warning! Do not leave the vehicle unattended while the engine is warming up. If the car is in a garage, make sure the garage doors are open. It is dangerous to leave a vehicle with the engine running even when the garage doors are open. Do not run the engine in the garage longer than is necessary to start the engine and drive the car out of the garage.
Warm engine start
While cranking the engine with the starter, depress the accelerator pedal to about half its travel.
Depressing the accelerator pedal to approximately half of its travel when the starter is cranking the crankshaft of a warm engine
Warning! If the engine cannot be started because the ambient temperature is too high, depress the accelerator pedal fully while cranking the engine with the starter.
Turn the ignition key to position "START" ("Starter") and when the engine starts, release the ignition key and the accelerator pedal.
Re-enrichment of the air-fuel mixture ("Pouring candles")
Fully depress and hold the accelerator pedal down until the engine starts. Not "download" (press repeatedly) accelerator pedal.
Pressing the accelerator pedal to the stop when starting the engine with a re-enrichment of the air-fuel mixture
Warning! If it is necessary to warm up the engine for a long time, make sure that there is no dry paper or other flammable objects near the exhaust pipe.
If the engine stalled
If the engine stalls after starting, repeat the above steps, taking into account the weather and engine conditions.
