Unleaded petrol
Hyundai vehicles must use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 RON (research octane number, "Normal") or higher. Use of leaded gasoline will cause the catalytic converter to fail and the emission control systems to fail. It may also increase vehicle maintenance costs. To prevent the vehicle from being filled with leaded fuel, the vehicle's filler neck is designed to accept only the reduced-diameter nozzle used for unleaded fuel.
Warning! Hyundai vehicles are supplied to some countries with the ability to run on leaded fuel. If you intend to use leaded fuel, consult your authorized Hyundai dealer about the suitability of leaded fuel for your vehicle. The octane rating of leaded gasoline is the same as that of unleaded gasoline.
Warning! The Hyundai New Vehicle Warranty does not cover fuel system damage or engine performance loss caused by the use of methanol or fuels containing methanol.
Ecologically clean types of fuel
In order to reduce air pollution, Hyundai recommends the use of fuels containing cleaning additives that help prevent carbon deposits from forming in the engine. Such fuels will contribute to cleaner engine operation and better performance of emission control systems.
