
2. Remove the boot (B) from the ball joint (A).

3. Remove the boot clamp (A).

4. Remove the boot clamp (A).

5. Pull the boot outward towards the steering rod.
Note: Check for rust on the rack when replacing the boots.
6. Disconnect the supply pipe (A) from the rack housing.

7. Slowly move the rack to drain the fluid from the rack housing.
8. Press back the tab of the lock washer (A) securing the steering rod (B) and rack (C).

9. Disconnect the steering rod (B) from the rack (A).
Caution: Be careful not to bend the rail.

10. Loosen the lock nut (A) of the stop plug.

11. Remove the stop plug (B) using a 14 mm drift (A).

12. Loosen the lock nut (A) and remove the stop plug (B), rack stop spring (C) and rack stop (D) from the steering gear.

13. When the retaining ring appears in the slot of the rack housing cylinder, turn the rack stopper (A) clockwise and remove the retaining ring.
Caution: Be careful not to damage the rack.

14.When the retaining ring appears in the slot (A) of the rack housing cylinder, turn the rack stopper (B) counterclockwise and remove the retaining ring.
Caution: Be careful not to damage the rack.

15. Remove the bushing and rack from the housing.
16. Remove the sealing ring (A) from the rack bushing (B).

17. Remove the seal (B) from the rack bushing (A).

18. Remove the valve (A) from the housing (B) using a soft hammer.

19. Using a special tool, remove the seal and ball bearing from the valve body.
20. Remove the seal and O-ring from the rack housing.
Caution: Be careful not to damage the pinion and rack housing.
21. Using special tools (09573-33100, 09555-21000) remove the seal (A) from the rack housing.
Caution: Be careful not to damage the rack housing.

22. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.
