Replacement
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 30 seconds.
2. Set the front wheels to the straight-ahead position.
3. Remove the driver airbag module (A).

4. Disconnect the connector (B) and loosen the lock nut (A), then remove the steering wheel from the steering shaft.
Caution: Do not hit the steering wheel with a hammer to remove it. This may damage the steering column.

5. Remove the upper (A) and lower (B) steering column housings.

6. Remove the contact disk (A).

7. Remove the multifunction switches (A).

8. Remove the lower part of the instrument panel.

9. Loosen the bolts and nuts and remove the panel (A).

10. Loosen the nut and remove the dust cover (A).

11. Loosen the bolt (A), then disconnect the universal joint from the steering gear pinion.
Note: Tightening torque: 29.4 - 34.3 Nm.
Caution: The shift lever must be in the neutral position to avoid damaging the inner cable of the contact disc when removing the steering wheel.

12. Disconnect all steering column connectors.
13. Loosen the bolts (A) and nuts (B) and remove the steering column.
Note: Tightening torque: 12.7-17.7 Nm.

14. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Disassembly
Universal connection
1. Loosen the bolt (A) and disconnect the universal joint from the steering column.

2. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.
Checking the technical condition
1. Check the steering column for deformation and damage.
2. Check the coupling bearing for wear and damage.
3. Inspect the tilt bracket for cracks or other damage.
4. Check the ignition switch for proper operation. Replace it if necessary.
