Withdrawal
1. Remove the rear wheel.
Note: Tightening torque: 88.3 - 107.9 Nm.
2. Remove the rear shock absorber. (2WD only).
3. Remove the rear upper arm. (2WD only).
4. Remove the bolt (IN) with hole and bolts (WITH) caliper mountings, then remove the rear caliper (A) assembled.
Note: Tightening torque:
- Brake hose to caliper (IN): 24.5 - 29.4 Nm.
- Caliper to holder (WITH): 78.5 - 98.1 Nm.
5. Loosen the screws (A) and remove the brake disc.
Replacement
Brake pads
1. Loosen the guide bolt (IN) and take the caliper (A) up to the end.
Note: Tightening torque: 21.6 - 31.4 Nm.
2. Install gasket (D) pads, holders (WITH) pads and brake pads (IN) on the bracket (A) caliper.
Checking the technical condition
Checking the brake discs
1. Check the wear and condition of the brake pads.
2. Inspect the brake disc for cracks or other damage.
3. Clean the surface of rust and dirt and measure the thickness of the disc at least eight points at the same distance (5 mm) from the outer circle.
Note:
Brake Disc Thickness:
- Standard value: 10 mm.
- Limit value: 8.4 mm.
- Deviation: less than 0.005mm.
4. If wear exceeds limit value, replace disks in gathering with pads from the left and right parties of the car.
Checking the brake pads
1. Check brake pad wear. Measure the thickness of the pad and replace it if the thickness is less than the specified value.
Note:
Brake pad thickness:
- Standard value: 10 mm.
- Limit value: 2.0 mm.
2. Check the sliding contact points for lubrication and check the brake pad, including the back side, for damage.
Checking brake disc runout
1. Install a dial gauge approximately 5 mm from the outer edge of the brake disc and measure the disc runout.
Note: Brake disc runout limit: 0.03mm or less (for a new disk).
2. If the brake disc runout exceeds the specified limits, reinstall the disc and remeasure.
3. If the runout exceeds the specified limits, rotate the dial 180°and remeasure.
4. If the runout cannot be corrected by repositioning the brake disc, replace the disc.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
2. Use the special tool to install the caliper assembly (09581-11000).
3. After installation, bleed the air from the brake system.
