Removal



1. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the positive cable from the battery, then remove the battery.

3. Disconnect the engine control unit connector, then remove the control unit and battery tray.

4. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor connector (A) from the reservoir and remove the reservoir cap.

5. Pump out the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir using a syringe.



Attention. Avoid getting brake fluid on the car surfaces: this may damage the paintwork. If brake fluid gets on a painted surface, it must be washed off immediately with water.


6. Disconnect the pipes (A) from the master cylinder by unscrewing the flare nuts.

Note: Tightening torque: ABS: 12.7 - 16.7 Nm. ESP: 16.7 - 22.6 Nm.

7. Remove the master cylinder (B) from the brake booster by unscrewing the mounting nuts (A).

Note: Tightening torque: 7.9 - 11.8 Nm.

Installation



1. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

2. After installation, bleed the brake system.
