2. Using the special tool, install the oil seal (A) into the steering gear housing in the position shown in the figure.
3. Apply working fluid (PSF-3) over the entire surface of the rack gland bushing.
4. Install the oil seal (A) into the rail bushing (IN).
5. Apply working fluid to the entire surface of the sealing ring and install the ring into the rack bushing.
6. Apply grease to the rack teeth (Multipurpose grease SAEJ310a, NLGI #2 EP) the specified brand.
Note. Be careful not to block the rail vent hole with grease (A).
7. Insert the rack into the steering gear housing, insert the rack bushing and move it inward until it aligns with the hole with the crankcase groove, then fix the bushing.
8. Using the special tool, install the oil seal and ball bearing into the gear housing.
9. Apply working fluid and grease to the gear (A) and install the gear in the steering gear housing.
10. Apply working fluid to the stuffing box, install it in the steering gear housing and fix the gear housing (A) with O-ring on crankcase (IN).
11. Install lock washers and tie rods.
Note.
- 1. Align tabs of lock washer (A) with rail recesses.
- 2. Always use new lock washers.
12. Install the liner (A), rail stop (IN), stop spring (WITH), stub (D) and lock nut (E) in the order shown in the figure. Before installing, apply a semi-hardening sealant to the threads of the rail stop adjusting screw.
13. With the rack in the middle position, screw the adjusting screw of the rack stop into the steering gear housing and tighten it with a 14 mm socket wrench to a torque of 12 N.m, then unscrew the screw at an angle of 30-60°and tighten the screw locknut to a torque of 50-70 Nm.
14. Tighten the union of the system supply pipeline to the specified torque and install the rubber cushion on the adhesive joint.
15. Apply brand silicone grease to the boot installation site (into a groove) steering traction.
16. Install a new mounting clamp on the anther.
Note. Replace the clamp with a new one every time you install the boot.
17. Install the boot in place, preventing it from twisting.
18. Lay in the anther of the ball joint of the steering rod (IN) and on the edge of the anther (A) lubricant (POLE LUB GLY801K or equivalent;: SHOWA SUNLIGHT MB 2 or equivalent; boot cavity and lip: THREE BOND) and secure the anther with a retaining ring, leading it into the groove of the hinge.
19. Install the ball joint on the tie rod. In this case, the length of the tie rod end should be 112.2 mm.
20. Check drive gear torque.
