2. Clamp the tie rod end (A) in a vice and remove the protective cover of the ball joint (IN).
3. Remove the boot collar.
4. Remove the outer boot collar (A).
5. Remove boot.
Note. After removing the boot, check the rail for rust.
6. Disconnect the feed tube from the steering gear housing.
7. Slowly moving the rack, drain the working fluid from the crankcase of the steering mechanism.
8. Knock down the retaining ring (A), fixing the steering rod (IN) on rail (WITH).
9. Disconnect the tie rod (A) from rail (IN).
10. Loosen the lock nut (A).
11. Remove lock nut (A), stub (IN), spring (WITH), rail stop (D) and insert (E) from the steering gear.
12. Unscrew the two mounting bolts (IN) and remove the body (A).
13. Remove rack bushing and rack from steering gear housing.
14. Remove outer O-ring (A) from rail bushing (IN).
15. Remove inner O-ring (A) from rail bushing (IN).
16. Remove gear (A) from the body (IN), using a plastic mallet (WITH).
17. Using the special tool, remove the oil seal and ball bearing from the housing.
18. To take an epiploon and a sealing ring from a case of the steering mechanism.
19. Using a special tool (06573-21200, 09555-21000), remove the seal (A) from the steering box.
