Removal

1. Remove the covers and unscrew the nuts securing the windshield wiper arms. Remove the wiper arms.
Caution: When removing the windshield wiper arms, be careful not to scratch the hood.

2. Remove the cover located under the windshield.

3. Disconnect the connector and remove the wiper motor and rods. Tightening torque: 7–11 Nm.
Installation

1. Set the wiper arm to a certain position.

2. Adjust the spray nozzles so that they spray the liquid in precisely defined places on the windshield.
Examination

Check the continuity between the windshield wiper and washer switch connector contacts. If the conductivity is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper/washer switch.

Checking the frequency of the windshield wiper
1. Disconnect the connector from the wiper motor.
2. Using additional wires, connect the positive terminal of the battery to terminal 4 of the connector, and the negative terminal to terminal 1.
3. Make sure the wiper motor is running at low speed.
4. Using additional wires, connect the positive terminal of the battery to terminal 4 of the connector, and the negative terminal to terminal 2.

5. Make sure the wiper motor is running at high speed.
Checking the automatic stop of the brushes in the initial state
1. Run the engine at low speed.
2. After disconnecting the wire from terminal 3 of the connector, stop the engine in any position other than the original one.
3. Connect terminals 1 and 5 of the connector.
4. Using additional wires, connect the positive terminal of the battery to terminal 4 of the connector, and the negative terminal to terminal 3.

5. Check that the wiper motor switches off when the wiper blades are in the home position.
Checking the operation of the windshield washer motor
1. With the windshield washer motor connected to the washer reservoir, fill the windshield washer reservoir with water.
2. Using additional wires, connect the positive terminal of the battery to terminal 2 of the connector, and the negative terminal to terminal 1, while the engine should run and the pump should pump water.
