Removal and installation

When removing the multifunction switch on vehicles equipped with an airbag, be careful and observe the following conditions.

1. Do not disassemble any of the SRS components. Disassembling the components may cause the SRS to malfunction.

2. Avoid allowing solvents or cleaning agents to come into contact with the airbag.

3. Transport the airbag separately, with the bag facing up.

4. If any SRS component has been dropped or has cracks, dents or other defects in the housing, bracket or connector, replace them with new ones.

5. Do not place your hands on the airbag during transportation.

6. Do not heat the airbag unit to temperatures above 93°C.

7. After the airbag has deployed, replace the sensor coil spring with a new one.

8. Before installing the air bag sensor coil spring, align the mark and neutral position indicator of the sensor spring with the front wheels set to travel straight ahead. If the coil spring mark is not properly aligned, the steering wheel will not be able to turn fully or the coil spring wire will be damaged, preventing the SRS from operating properly.
