Withdrawal
1. Drain the coolant to the level of the sensor or below.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and disconnect the connector between the engine wiring and the sensor switch.
3. Remove the sensor and the sensor-switch.
Examination
1. Warm up the engine coolant temperature sensor by immersing it in hot water.
2. Check that the sensor resistance is within the specified limits.
Resistance:
- 90.5-11 Ohm at 70°C
- 21.3-26.34 ohms at 115°C
Coolant temperature switch
1. Warm up the sensor switch by immersing it in hot water.
2. Check that the sensor resistance is within the specified limits.
Resistance:
- 2.27-2.73 kOhm at 200°C
- 290-354 Ohm at 90°C
Installation
1. Apply sealing material to the threaded part of the sensor and tighten it to the required torque.
Torque:
- Coolant temperature sensor - 10-12 Nm
- Coolant temperature switch - 15-20 Nm
2. Connect the wiring connector to the coolant temperature sensor and the coolant temperature switch.
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
4. Fill the system with clean coolant.
