Removal

1. Drain the coolant to the level of the sensor or below.

[The article is copied from this website: hyundaibook.ru]

2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and the wires going to the engine.

3. Remove the sensor and transmitter.

Examination

1. Heat the sensor by immersing it in hot coolant

2. Make sure the sensor resistance is within the specified limits.

Electrical resistance:
  • 90.5-117.5 Ohm at 70°C
  • 21.3-26.3 Ohm at 115°C

21.3-26.3 Ohm at 115°C

Temperature sensor sensing element

1. Heat the sensing element by immersing it in hot coolant.

2. Make sure the electrical resistance is within the specified limits.

2. Make sure the electrical resistance is within the specified limits.

Electrical resistance:
  • 2.21-2.69 kOhm at 20°C
  • 264-328 Ohm at 80°C

Installation

1. Apply sealant to the threaded part and tighten to the specified torque:
  • Temperature sensor "Tribond No.2310" or similar
  • Sensitive element "Loctite 962T" or similar

Tightening torque:

  • Temperature sensor - 10-12 Nm
  • Sensing element - 20-40 Nm

2. Connect the wires to the sensor and the sensing element.

3. Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.

4. Fill the system with coolant.
