Removal
1. Drain the coolant and disconnect the coolant outlet hose from the radiator.
2. Remove the drive belt and pump drive pulley.
3. Remove the camshaft drive belt covers and tensioner.
4. Loosen the pump mounting bolts and remove the generator tension element.
5. Remove the pump from the cylinder block.

Examination
1. Check the coolant pump for cracks, defects or wear and replace the pump if necessary.
2. Check the pump bearing for defects, abnormal noise during operation and difficulty in rotation. Replace the pump if any of these are found.
3. Check the seal for leaks.
4. Check the pump for coolant leaks.
Installation
1. Clean the surface of the pump body and the surface of the cylinder block from dirt.
2. Install a new O-ring into the recess at the front end of the coolant supply pipe, wetting the O-ring with coolant. Do not use oil or other lubricants.
3. Install the new water pump gasket and the pump assembly. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

Tightening torque of the bolts securing the pump to the cylinder block:
- Bolt with head "4" - 12-15 Nm
- Bolt with head "7" - 20-27 Nm
4. Install the belt tensioner and the belt itself. Adjust the tension, install the covers.
5. Install the pump drive pulley and belt, adjust the tension.
6. Refill the cooling system with coolant.
7. Check the pump for leaks with the engine running.
