Removal and inspection
1. Drain the coolant to the thermostat level or below.
2. Remove the coolant outlet pipe and gasket.
3. Remove the thermostat.
4. To check the valve opening temperature, immerse the thermostat in hot coolant. Replace the thermostat if necessary.

- Valve opening start temperature is 88°C
- Full valve opening temperature - 100°C
- Valve lift (fully open) - 8.5 mm or more
Installation
1. Check that the thermostat flange is seated correctly in the thermostat housing socket. If the thermostat is not installed correctly, the bottom of the thermostat will touch the rib inside the intake manifold, which will prevent the thermostat from working properly.
3. Fill the system with clean coolant.
