Removal
1. Drain the coolant to the level of the sensor or below.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and disconnect the connector between the engine wiring and the sensor and the sensor switch.
3. Remove the sensor and the sensor switch.
Examination
1. Heat the engine coolant temperature sensor by immersing it in hot water.

2. Check that the sensor resistance is within the specified limits.
Resistance:
- 90.5 Ohm at 70°C
- 21.3-26.34 Ohm at 115°C
Coolant Temperature Switch Sensor
