Seat belt pretensioner

Seat belt pretensioner

When the vehicle is involved in an accident at a certain angle relative to the frontal impact, the inflator is ignited by a signal from the SRSCM.

The gas coming out of the gas generator will cause the piston to move in the cylinder with the gear transmission of the pretensioner.

The gear train rotates the piston pinion, and the satellite rotates the planetary gears.

As a result, the belt is tensioned due to the rotation of the drum. Therefore, a seat belt with a pretensioner reduces the severity of injury to the driver and front passenger by pre-tensioning the belt. This prevents the driver and front passenger from moving forward and from hitting the steering wheel or dashboard.

Seat belt load limiter

The load limiter is designed to reduce the force of impact of the driver and front passenger on the fastened seat belts during a collision. If the collision force reaches a certain value, the torsion bar of the pre-tensioned seat belts deforms and releases the seat belt slightly, reducing the force of the impact.

Removal

Warning: Before servicing the airbag system, make sure that at least 30 seconds have passed after the ignition has been turned off and the negative battery cable has been disconnected.
