Hydraulic unit HECU (Hyundai Elantra XD)

Removal

1. Disconnect the brake lines from the HECU.



2. Remove the bracket mounting bolts and remove the HECU unit together with the bracket.

• 1. Do not disassemble the HECU hydraulic unit.
• 2. The HECU unit must be transported in an upright position with the unit openings closed with suitable plugs, as brake fluid must not drain from the unit.

3. Disconnect the connector from the HECU.

Installation

1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

2. Tighten the modulator mounting bolts and brake pipe mounting nuts to the required tightening torques.

Tightening torques:

• HECU mounting bolt: 8-10 N·m
• Brake pipe mounting nuts: 13–17 N·m
