Removal and inspection
1. Drain the coolant to or below the thermostat level.
2. Remove the coolant outlet pipe and gasket.
3. Remove the thermostat.
4. To check the valve opening temperature, immerse the thermostat in hot coolant. Replace it if necessary.
- Valve opening start temperature is 82°C
- Full valve opening temperature - 95°C
- Valve lift (when fully opened) — 8.5 mm or more
Installation
1. Check that the thermostat flange is seated correctly in the thermostat housing socket.
2. Install the new gasket and coolant inlet pipe.
3. Fill the system with clean coolant.
