Removal



Drain the coolant until its level is below the thermostat.

Remove the cooling system inlet pipe and gasket.

Remove the thermostat.

Examination

Place the thermostat in hot coolant or water and check that the thermostat valve opening temperature corresponds to the nominal value. Replace if necessary (Fig. 2.183).
  • Valve opening start temperature: 82°C.
  • Full valve opening temperature: 95°C.
  • Valve stroke (fully open): 8.5 mm.

Installation



Check that the thermostat valve flange is seated correctly in the thermostat housing socket. If the thermostat is not installed correctly, its lower part will touch the rib inside the supply pipe, which will cause the thermostat to malfunction.



Install the outlet pipe with a new gasket.

Fill the system with fresh coolant.
