Check the radiator cap for damage, cracks and deterioration (wear, etc.) (Fig. 2.181).
Check the radiator cap for damage, cracks and deterioration of the gasket material (loss of elasticity).
Attach the plug to the radiator cap tester.
Using the device pump, create pressure until the pressure gauge needle stops deflecting.
The radiator cap is in good condition if the pressure gauge needle shows a pressure higher than the operating pressure for 10 seconds.
