Checking the belt tension with a device (Hyundai Elantra J2)

1. Press the handle of the tension gauge and insert the belt between the spindle and the hook of the gauge.

2. Release the handle and read the measurement result on the instrument scale.

Note

• 1. A belt that has been in use for 5 minutes or more should be adjusted as a used belt.
• 2. Make sure the belt is installed correctly.
• 3. A loose belt produces a high-pitched whistling sound.

4. A belt that is too tight can cause damage to the generator bearings.
