Differential elements (models before 2000)
1 - bearing;
2 - axis;
3 - differential box;
4 - bushing;
5 - washer;
6 - satellite;
7 - axle gear;
8 - differential gear.
Disassembly
Clamp the differential housing in a vise.
Having unscrewed the bolts in the reverse order shown in the figure, remove the differential drive gear.
Clamping the body (3) in the tool, remove the bearings (1), cotter pin, gear shaft, gears and washers.
Remove side gears and spacers.
Check the condition of the gears and bearings. Clean them and dry them. Apply gear oil to them before assembly.
Assembly
Install the axle gears and spacers.
Install the pinion axles (1), satellites (2) and pucks.
Install cotter pin (A) into the hole (B).
Measure the gap between the gears of the axle shafts (4) and pucks. It should be 0.025-0.150 mm. If the gap does not comply with the standard, the assembly must be re-assembled using other spacers.
Install bearings (5).
Tighten the bolts in the specified sequence (in accordance with drawing XA 12.066).
