Checking the starter relay (Hyundai Accent MC)

1. Remove the fuse box cover and take out the starter relay (14).



2. Use an ohmmeter to check the integrity of the relay circuit: contacts 30 and 87 - the circuit is closed; contacts 85 and 86 - circuit open.



3. Apply battery voltage to terminal 85 and ground terminal 86. Check the circuit between terminals 30 and 87. If the circuit is open, replace the relay.
