Manual transmission
1 – bolt, 27–34 Nm; 2 – speedometer cable; 3 – clutch housing cover; 4 – bolt, 8–10 Nm; 5 – gear selection cable; 6 – gear shift cable; 7 – starter.
Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable first, then the positive cable. Remove the drain plug and drain the transmission fluid from the gearbox into a suitable container.
2. Remove the clutch release slave cylinder.
3. Remove the air filter housing.
4. Remove the battery and battery support.

5. Remove the gear selector and shift cables.
6. Disconnect the reverse light switch connector.
7. Remove the speedometer drive cable.
8. Disconnect the clutch hydraulic line and close the end of the line with a suitable plug.

9. Remove the engine side cover and the gearbox side cover.
10. Remove the front and rear brackets.
11. Remove the right front wheel.
12. Remove the front strut ball joint mounting bolt.
13. Insert a pry bar between the inner CV joint of the drive shaft and the gearbox and lightly tap the pry bar to remove the drive shaft from the gearbox.

14. Remove the starter.
15. Using special tool 09400–29000, support the engine so that the engine weight is supported by the tool.
16. Remove the left gearbox bracket.
17. Remove the upper gearbox mounting bolts.

18. Remove the clutch housing cover.
19. Support the gearbox with a jack.
20. Remove the lower gearbox mounting bolts.
21. Remove the clutch housing and clutch driven disc.

22. Remove the flywheel.
Installation
The gearbox is installed in the reverse order of removal.
