1 – gear selection and shift cables; 2 – bracket; 3 – bolt, 9–14 Nm; 4 – lever handle; 5 – gear shift lever; 6 – casing; 7 – bolt, 9–14 Nm.
Removal
1. Remove the center console.
2. Remove the cotter pins and clips from the gear shift lever side.
3. Remove the gear shift lever assembly.
4. Remove the holder and unscrew the bolts.
5. Remove the cotter pins and clamps from the transmission side.
6. Remove the gear selector and shift cables.
Examination
1. Check the gear selector cable for ease of movement in the cable housing and for damage.
2. Check the gear shift cable for ease of movement within the cable housing and for damage.
3. Check the protective cover for damage.
4. Check all bushings for wear, abrasions, binding, restricted movement and damage.
5. Check the springs for damage and loss of elasticity.
Installation
1. Install the gear shift lever assembly.
2. Install the gear selector and shift cables.
