Removal
1. Remove the following parts: Engine cover (B) and air duct (A).
Air filter assembly (C). Battery and shelf (D).

2. Remove the ground wire by unscrewing the bolt (A).

3. Remove the gear shift cable (C) by unscrewing the nut (A) and bolt (B).
Note: Tightening torque:
- (A) 7.8 - 11.8 Nm.
- (B) 14.7 - 21.6 Nm.

4. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector (B) and the retarder switch connector (A).
5. Disconnect the hose (B) by removing the transmission oil cooler hose clamp (A).
6. For A6MF1: Remove the bolt (A) securing the wire bracket.
7. Remove the upper gearbox mounting bolts (A).
8. Loosen the starter mounting bolts (B).
Note: Tightening torque:
- (A) 42.2 - 54.0 Nm.
- (B) 49.0 - 63.7 Nm.

9. Remove the upper hood cover or windshield wiper motor.
10. Remove the panel (A) assembly.
11. Using the engine support (Support (A) No.: 092Q0-2S000, Beam (B) No.: 09200-38001), securely suspend the engine with the gearbox.
Attention.
For safety reasons, when hanging the engine with the gearbox assembly, also support the engine from below with a jack.
In this case, the jack must be installed under the oil pan. A rubber gasket must be placed between the jack and the pan to avoid damage to the oil pan.
12. Loosen the bolt (A) of the gearbox support bracket.
Note: Tightening torque: 88.3-107.9 Nm.
13. Remove the engine protection (A).
14. Remove the following parts:
- A. Front wheels.
- B. Subframe assembly.
- C. Drive shafts from the gearbox.
- D. Cardan shaft.
- E. For 4WD vehicles: Remove the transfer case assembly.

15. Remove the dust cover (A).
16. Loosen the 4 torque converter mounting bolts (A) by rotating the crankshaft.
Note: Tightening torque: 45.1 - 52.0 Nm.
17. Remove the gearbox using a jack, unscrewing the bolts (A - 4 pcs., B - 2 pcs.).
Note: Tightening torque:
- (A): 29.4 - 41.2 Nm.
- (B): 42.2 - 54.0 Nm.

18. Remove the side cover (A).
19. Remove the roller stop bracket (C).
Note: Tightening torque: (A) 58.8 - 78.5 Nm.
20. Remove the dust cover (A).
21. Loosen the 6 torque converter mounting bolts (A) by turning the crankshaft.
Note: Tightening torque: 45.1 - 52.0 Nm.
22. Remove the gearbox using a jack, unscrewing the bolts (A - 3 pcs., B - 3 pcs.).
Note: Tightening torque: (A, B) 42.2 - 53.9 Nm.

Installation
1. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
2. After installation, perform the following operations:
- Replace the power steering fluid and bleed air from the system.
- Add oil to the gearbox.
