Traction control (teaching staff) limits the degree of slip of the drive wheels on slippery road surfaces, thereby facilitating the acceleration of the car. In addition, it provides sufficient traction on the drive wheels and control of the car in turns performed with acceleration.
Spin prevention
The system limits the slippage of the drive wheels when starting from a standstill and when cornering when accelerating on slippery roads, thereby preventing a decrease in the traction force of the drive wheels.
Driving with PPS
The PPS system does not act directly on the brakes. Slow down before entering a turn.
Attention: The flashing of the TCS indicator lamp indicates that the PPS has come into effect. It also indicates that the road is slippery or the acceleration is too harsh. In such a situation, release the accelerator pedal and maintain a moderate speed.
Warning: PPP only provides driving assistance. Its presence does not replace the observance of all precautions when driving in difficult weather conditions or on slippery roads.
Enabling and disabling PPP
When the system is switched on, the corresponding control lamp flashes in the instrument cluster.
When the system is turned off by pressing the switch, the PPS control lamp lights up with a constant light. When turned off, the slip control stops.
This should be taken into account when driving. Press the switch again to turn on the system. In this case, the control lamp should go out.
Note:
- 1) Stop the engine, start it again: in this case, the PPS will turn on automatically.
- 2) During normal operation of the PPS, a slight vibration may be felt in the car, which is caused by the effect of the system on the brakes and is not unusual.
- 3) When starting the engine, a click is heard from the engine compartment, which indicates that the traction control system is being tested.
- 4) During starting off in liquid mud or freshly fallen snow, the engine speed when the accelerator pedal is pressed may not increase as a result of the PPS.
System indicator lamps
When the ignition key is set to position «ON» or «START» The control lamps should light up and go out after three seconds.
If the lamps do not light up or do not go out after 3 seconds, have an authorized dealer check.
In case of any malfunction of the system, the control lamp for turning off the PPS «TCS-OFF» lights up.
If the control lamp «TCS-OFF» is on or flashing, stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the engine.
After that, start the engine again and make sure that the control lamp «TCS-OFF» does not burn.
If the lamp remains on after starting the engine, have the system checked by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
Note:
- 1) If the control lamp «TCS-OFF» lights up, the traction control system is automatically deactivated for safety reasons.
- 2) This function does not work if the driver disables the system himself.
