Warning: Do not place any items on the shelf behind the rear seat. In an accident or heavy braking, they may move forward and damage the vehicle or cause injury.
When leaving the parking lot, make sure that the parking brake is off and the control lamp for its inclusion is not lit.
When driving on a road covered in water or after washing the vehicle, water may enter the brakes. Wet brakes are dangerous! When the brakes are wet, the braking distance of the vehicle increases and the vehicle may skid. Dry the brakes by lightly depressing the pedal until they return to normal operation while maintaining constant control of the vehicle. If normal brake action is not restored, stop the vehicle as soon as possible in a safe place and contact your Hyundai dealer for assistance.
Do not drive downhill in neutral. This is extremely dangerous. Always keep one of the gears engaged. To slow down, slow down and shift into a low gear for engine braking to maintain a safe speed.
When driving downhill, do not maintain the desired speed by constantly braking. Constant pressing on the pedal is dangerous, because. may cause the brakes to overheat and lose their effectiveness. In addition, this results in accelerated wear of parts of the brake system.
If a tire is punctured while driving, gently brake the car, trying to keep it in a straight line. After slowing down enough to safely exit the road, pull over and stop in a safe place.
If the car is equipped with an automatic transmission, make sure that the car does not spontaneously slowly move forward. To do this, after stopping, keep your foot on the brake pedal.
Take precautions when parking on a slope. Apply the parking brake and set the selector lever to the position «R» (by car with automatic transmission) or engage 1st gear or reverse gear (by car with manual transmission). If the vehicle is parked in a downhill driving position, turn the wheels towards the curb to prevent the vehicle from rolling. For the same purpose, when parking on an incline, turn the wheels away from the curb. If there is no curb or if it is required due to other conditions, install blocks under the wheels.
Under certain conditions, when the parking brake is applied, the brake mechanisms may freeze. This most often occurs when ice or snow accumulates around or near the rear wheel brakes, or when the brakes are wet. If there is a risk of the brakes freezing, apply the parking brake only for a short time when the selector lever is in position «R» (by car with automatic transmission) or engaging 1st gear or reverse gear (in a car with a manual transmission) and to more securely hold the car, place blocks under the wheels, then turn off the parking brake.
Do not hold the vehicle in place on a hill with the accelerator pedal. This can cause the transmission to overheat. To do this, always use the brake pedal or parking brake.
