When driving on slippery roads, the traction control system (TCS) prevents the drive wheels from spinning, thereby helping the car to gain speed. This system also ensures sufficient traction and control when the car takes corners at speed.
"SLIP Control" ("Wheel slip control")
Prevents wheel spin on slippery roads when starting off or when the vehicle is cornering at speed to avoid loss of traction on the drive wheels.
Traction control system (TCS) does not directly affect the brakes. Reduce speed before entering a turn.
Caution! When the SLIP Control function is activated, the traction control system (TCS) indicator lamp will flash. In this case, release the accelerator pedal and maintain a moderate speed.
Note: The traction control system is intended only as an aid to driving; all precautions must be taken when driving in adverse weather conditions and on slippery roads.
Traction Control System (TCS) ON Mode
When the traction control system (TCS) is on, the indicator lamp on the instrument panel does not light.
1. Turn off the engine and then turn it on again. The TCS will turn on automatically.
2. When the wheel slip control is correct, you may feel a slight vibration of the car. This is a consequence of the car braking and is not dangerous.
3. When starting the engine, clicking sounds may be heard from under the hood: this means that the traction control system is performing self-diagnosis.
4. When the vehicle is driven out of a snowdrift or mud, pressing the accelerator pedal may not result in an increase in engine speed.
Operation of control lamps
The indicator lamp comes on when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" and "START" positions and goes out after three seconds.

Traction control system malfunction warning light (TCS-OFF) lights up if the system detects a malfunction (abnormal operating conditions).
If this indicator light comes on, stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the engine. Then start the engine again to check if the indicator light goes out.
Note: When the traction control indicator light comes on (TCS-OFF), wheel slip control is automatically stopped for safety reasons.
