Do not inhale exhaust gases
Exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide, a colorless and odorless gas that, if inhaled, can cause unconsciousness and death.
Check for leaks from the exhaust system
The exhaust system should be checked each time the vehicle is placed on a lift for an oil change or for other purposes. If you notice a change in the sound of the exhaust or run over something that strikes the underbody, have the exhaust system checked by your Hyundai dealer as soon as possible.
Do not run the engine indoors
Running the engine idling in a garage is dangerous even with the garage door open. Inside the garage, the engine should only run for the time it takes to start it and drive it out of the garage.
Do not allow the engine to idle for a long time when there are people in the cabin
Prolonged idling of the engine while people are in the vehicle is only permissible in an open area. In this case, the ventilation system must operate in the outside air intake mode, and the passenger compartment fan must be turned on at one of the high speeds.
If you have to drive with the tailgate open when carrying bulky items:
- 1. Raise all glass doors.
- 2. Open the side interior ventilation nozzles.
- 3. Turn on the outside air intake, face or floor air supply, and turn on the interior fan at one of the high speeds.
To ensure efficient operation of the interior ventilation system, ensure that the air intakes located in front of the windshield are not clogged with snow, ice, leaves or other objects.
