Car exhaust gases are very dangerous! (Hyundai Getz 1)

0
Engine exhaust gases can be very dangerous. If you smell exhaust gases in your car, roll down your windows immediately.

Do not inhale exhaust gases. Exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide. You cannot see it or smell it. Inhaling carbon monoxide can cause loss of consciousness or even death.

The exhaust system must be sealed. The exhaust system should be checked for leaks whenever you lift the vehicle for an oil change or other purpose. If you hear a change in the exhaust sound or if there is a knock to the underside of the vehicle, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealer as soon as possible.

Do not start your car engine in enclosed spaces. It is dangerous to idle the engine in the garage, even if the garage doors are open. Do not allow the engine to run in your garage longer than necessary to start the engine and drive the car out of the garage.

Avoid running the engine at idle for long periods when people are inside the vehicle. If it is necessary to run the engine at idle speed for a long time when there are people in the car, park the car in an open, well-ventilated place, set the air intake mode selector switch to the outside air intake position and turn on the fan at one of the high speeds to refresh the air entering the car.

If you are forced to drive with the rear door/trunk lid open because you are carrying large luggage, you must do the following:
  • 1. Close all windows.
  • 2. Open the side deflectors.
  • 3. Set the air intake mode selection switch to the outside air intake position, the ventilation mode selection knob to the position (to the feet or to the head area), and the fan to one of the high speeds.

Information is taken from a thematic website (www.hyundaibook.ru)

To ensure proper operation of the ventilation system, keep the air intake vents located in front of the windshield free of snow, ice, leaves or other objects.
