Removal

Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield (Fig. 2.174).

Remove the exhaust manifold assembly from the cylinder head (Fig. 2.175).
Remove the exhaust manifold gasket.
Examination
Check the exhaust manifold for cracks or damage.
Using a straightedge and a flat feeler gauge, measure the warpage of the exhaust manifold mating surface.
Nominal value: 0.15 mm.
Maximum permissible value: 0.30 mm.
Installation
The exhaust manifold is installed in the reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque of exhaust manifold mounting bolts: M8 – 25–30 Nm, M10 – 35–55 Nm.
Caution! Replace the exhaust manifold gasket with a new one before reinstalling. Don't forget to install the heat shields.
