Late car models
If the conditions described below are not met, adjust the ignition lock cable.
If the brake pedal is fully depressed, the ignition key is in the LOCK position (OFF) or removed from the lock, the gear selector lever cannot be moved from position P to any other position if the button on the selector lever is not pressed.
If the brake pedal is fully depressed, the ignition key is set to any position other than LOCK (OFF) or removed from the lock, the gearbox selector lever can be easily moved from position P to any other position if the button on the automatic transmission selector lever is pressed.
If the brake pedal is released and the gear selector lever is in any position other than P, the ignition key cannot be turned to the LOCK position (OFF).
Ignition lock cable adjustment
After installing the gear selector lever handle, remove the front floor console.
Move the selector lever to position P.
Turn the ignition key to the LOCK position (OFF).
Loosen the lock nut (3) cable lock (2) the ignition lock, press the junction of the cable with the cam of the locking mechanism (1) in the direction of the arrow until the rope stops. Tighten the lock nut.
After installing the floor console, check the operation of the locking mechanism.
