Late car models
If the conditions described below are not met, adjust the shift lock cable.
If the brake pedal is fully depressed and the ignition key is in the ACC position, then the selector lever cannot be moved from position P to any other position if the button on the selector lever is not pressed.
If the brake pedal is fully depressed and the ignition key is in the ACC position, the selector lever cannot be moved from position P to any other position if the button on the selector lever is pressed.
If the brake pedal is released and the ignition key is in the ACC position, the selector lever can be easily moved from position R to position P if the button on the automatic transmission selector lever is pressed.
Shift Lock Cable Adjustment
Remove the front floor console and preinstall the selector lever handle.
Move the selector lever to position P.
Turn the ignition key to the LOCK position (OFF).
Loosen the lock nut of the mode shift lock cable.
Tighten lock nut (3) so that the end of the mode lock cable (2) protruded above the red mark on the cam (1).

After adjustment, check the operation of the mode switch lock mechanism again.
