Camshaft — Check (Hyundai Sonata Y3)

Examination

1. Replace the camshaft if the following areas are severely worn or damaged.

• 1) Necks.
• 2) Cam lobes.
• 3) Fuel pump drive cam.
• 4) Teeth of the ignition distributor drive gear.
• 5) Surface in contact with the seal.

2. If the camshaft bearings are badly worn, replace the cylinder head.

3. If the oil seal rib is worn, replace it.
