1. Move the selector lever to each position and make sure it moves smoothly and is controlled. Check compliance with position indicator.
2. Make sure the switch lever can be moved to any position (with the button as shown in the picture).
3. Start the engine and check that the vehicle moves forward when the lever is shifted from "N" into position "D" and moves back when the lever is moved to the position "R".
4. In the event of a malfunction, the control cable and shift lever clutch. Watch for wear on the sliding parts of the assembly.
