Gasoline engines - removal and installation
1. Remove the drain plug (A) and drain the coolant. Remove the radiator cap to speed up draining.
Attention. Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Otherwise, high-pressure hot fluid may be ejected from the radiator, which could cause severe burns.
2. Remove the drive belt (A).
MDPS type
3. Remove heat shield (A) exhaust manifold.
HPS type
Note: Tightening torque: 7.8-11.8 Nm
4. Remove the bolt (A) fastening the coolant inlet pipe and then remove the water pump (IN) and padding.
Note: Tightening torque: A: 9.8-11.8 Nm. B: 18.6 -23.5 Nm.
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
6. Fill the radiator with coolant and check for leaks.
Note:
- Remove air from the cooling system.
- Start the engine and let it warm up (until the radiator fan turns on 3-4 times).
- Stop the engine and let it cool down. Check the coolant level and add it if necessary. This will remove air from the cooling system.
- Replace the radiator cap tightly, restart the engine and check for leaks.
Diesel engines - removal
1. Drain the coolant from the system.
Attention. Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Otherwise, high-pressure hot fluid may be ejected from the radiator, causing severe burns.
2. Loosen the tensioner by turning it counterclockwise with a wrench. Then remove the drive belt (A).
3. Remove the pulley (A) water pump.
4. Remove the water pump (A) and about laying (IN).
5. Remove the inlet pipe (A) coolant with o-ring (IN).
6. Remove the cover (A) water pump and gasket (IN).
Installation
1. Install water pump cover and new gasket.
Note: Tightening torque: 19.6 - 24.5 Nm.
2. Install the inlet (A) coolant with new o-ring (IN).
Note: Tightening torque: 19.6 - 24.5 Nm.
Attention. When connecting the coolant inlet to the body, be careful not to allow dust and oil to come into contact with the O-ring surface, and be careful not to damage the O-ring surface.
3. Install the water pump (A) with new gasket (IN).
Note: Tightening torque: 19.6 - 24.5 Nm.
4. Install pulley (A) water pump.
Note: Tightening torque: 7.8 - 11.8 Nm.
5. Install drive belt (A).
6. Fill in engine coolant.
7. Start the engine and check for leaks.
8. Recheck the engine coolant level.
