Thermostat
Replace the thermostat with a new one if it opens at room temperature.
1. Immerse the thermostat in a tank of water.
Note: Do not let the thermometer touch the bottom of the tank.
2. Heat up the water and check the temperature with a thermometer. Check the thermostat start opening temperature as well as the full opening temperature.
Note: Nominal values: Beginning of opening: 82°C. Full opening: 95°C.
3. Measure the full opening height of the thermostat.
Note: Valve lift:
- Gasoline engines: not less than 8 mm.
- Diesel engines: not less than 10 mm.
Water pump
1. Check all parts of the pump for cracks, damage or wear and replace the water pump assembly with a new one if necessary.
2. Check the bearings for damage, abnormal noise, and runout, and if necessary, replace the water pump assembly with a new one.
3. Check the tightness of the pump. If coolant leaks out of the hole, the seal is damaged. Replace the water pump assembly with a new one.
Note: Small quantity «dew» from the outlet is normal.
