Removal
1. Drain the coolant to the level below the sensor.
2. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery and the connector from the sensor.
3. Remove the coolant temperature sensor.
Examination
1. Heat the coolant temperature sensor by immersing it in hot coolant.
2. Measure the resistance of the sensor. Resistance: 2.31–2.59 Ohm at 20°C.
Installation
1. Apply sealant to the threads of the coolant temperature sensor and screw in the sensor, tightening it to the specified torque. Sealant: Threebond No. 1324N or LOCTITE 262 Tightening torque: 20–40 N·m.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
3. Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
4. Fill the cooling system with the required amount of coolant.
