0
To avoid injury to people or failure of the electronic ignition system, the following precautions must be observed:
  • Do not touch or remove spark plug wires while the engine is running or while the starter is operating.
  • Disconnect the ignition wires only when the ignition is off.
  • Connect and disconnect the measuring instrument wires only when the ignition is off.
  • Do not connect the radio interference suppression capacitor or test lamp to the ignition coil ground terminal.
  • Measuring instruments and a stroboscope must not be connected to the positive terminal of the ignition coil while the engine is running.
  • Do not replace the ignition coil with a coil of a different type.
  • Do not heat the car to a temperature above 80°C (for example, painting, drying a car). Start the engine only when the car has cooled down.
  • Wash the car only with the ignition off.
