Replacing the brush rubber (Hyundai Elantra J1)

If the glass is not cleaned well, the wiper blade rubbers should be replaced. The rubber bands are sold both as a set and separately.

Removal

Lift the brush lever to remove the brush.

From the closed side of the rubber band, squeeze the steel tires with pliers. Remove the rubber band (1) first from the upper brush bracket, and then together with the tires from the remaining brackets.



Place the new rubber band without the tires into one of the brush brackets.

Insert both tires into the rubber band so that the protrusions on the tires are facing the rubber band. Install them.

Use pliers to squeeze both steel bars and the rubber band together and insert them into the other brackets so that the tips of the brackets (1) on both sides fit into the recess of the rubber band.



Place the blade on the wiper arm and secure it.

Lower the lever onto the glass. The rubber band should fit snugly against the glass along its entire length.
