1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Drain the coolant.
3. Remove the air cleaner.
4. Disconnect the drive cable from the throttle valve.
5. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the carburetor.
6. Disconnect the fuel shut-off solenoid valve connector.
7. Place a container under the fuel lines being disconnected from the carburetor to catch any fuel that may spill from the fuel line and disconnect the lines from the carburetor nipples.
8. Remove the carburetor mounting bolts and carefully remove it from the engine. Hold the carburetor so as not to spill fuel from it.
