Withdrawal
1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the air filter.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the reverse light switch and engine wiring harnesses.
4. On a 5-speed manual transmission vehicle, disconnect the electrical connector from the select control valve.
5. Disconnect electrical connectors from alternator and oil pressure sensor.
6. Drain the coolant.
7. On an automatic transmission vehicle, disconnect the transmission oil cooler hoses.
Warning! Mark the hoses before disconnecting them so that they are not mixed up when reconnecting.
Warning! Be careful not to leak transmission fluid from the hoses. Close the ends of the hoses with plugs to prevent dirt from getting in.
8. Disconnect the upper and lower hoses from the radiator and remove the radiator.
9. Disconnect the connection wire from the engine "weight".
10. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster.
11. Disconnect the fuel supply and return hoses from the engine.
Warning! Gasoline is extremely flammable, when working with fuel system components, the use of fire, sparking devices, open flammable light devices and smoking is prohibited. Sparks should be avoided when handling wires and electrical devices.
12. Disconnect the cooling system hoses going to the heater.
13. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the engine.
14. On a 5-speed manual transmission vehicle, disconnect the clutch cable from the transmission housing.
15. On a vehicle with an automatic transmission, disconnect the transmission control cable.
16. Disconnect the speedometer drive cable from the transmission.
17. Remove the air conditioning compressor from the bracket.
18. Raise the vehicle.
19. Drain the gearbox oil.
20. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
Warning! Secure the exhaust pipe to the bottom of the car with a soft wire.
21. On a 5-speed manual transmission vehicle, disconnect the selector and shift links.
22. Turn out bolts of fastening of the spherical hinge of the lower arm and the anti-roll bar to the lower arm.
23. Using a pry bar, pry out the driveshaft inner joints from the gearbox.
Warning! To prevent dirt from entering with plugs, close the holes in the gearbox.
Warning! Install new circlips when reinstalling drive shafts.
24. Secure the lower control arms and drive shafts to the body with soft wire.
25. Attach the load handlers to the engine lugs and lift so that the weight of the engine is supported by the load handler.
26. Remove the front engine mount.
27. Remove the rear engine mount.
28. On a vehicle with a 5-speed manual transmission, remove the transmission support.
29. Turn out bolts of fastening of arms of support of the engine.
30. Remove the support brackets from the engine.
31. Raise the engine slowly so that it is clear of the supports and temporarily hold it in that position.
Warning! Check that all electrical connectors, hoses, tubes and wire harnesses are disconnected from the engine.
32. Turn out bolts of fastening of an arm of a transmission to the right wing.
33. Turn out the left bolt of fastening of a support.
34. While tilting the gearbox down, lift and remove the engine together with the gearbox from the vehicle.
Installation
1. Install the engine with the gearbox in the vehicle, making sure that the hoses, wire harnesses, tubes and electrical connectors are not damaged or pinched.
2. After installing the engine, temporarily fix the front support.
3. After installing the engine with the gearbox on all supports, tighten the support mounting bolts to the required torque.
4. Reconnect all previously disconnected items, being especially careful to ensure they are properly and securely connected.
5. Reconnect all previously disconnected items, being especially careful to ensure they are properly and securely connected.
6. Check levels and add all fluids if necessary.
7. Check the operation of the shift rods and the accelerator cable.
8. Check the operation of all pointers.
