Cylinder head cover and plugs (Hyundai Elantra XD)

Removal

1. Pull and turn the plug handle to the right.

2. Remove the cork from the lid. After using the plug, turn the knob (–) to increase the gap between the cylinder head cover and the plug.

Installation

1. Lubricate the plug sealing ring with engine oil.



2. Insert the plug into the hole in the cylinder head cover and turn it to the left.

Caution: Always use new plugs when installing.

3. Using special tool 09351 – 27400, install the fuel injector oil seal.



4. Tighten the cover mounting bolts to the required torque. Tightening torque: 8–10 Nm.
