Warning: If the engine does not start, do not attempt to push or tow it. This may result in a collision or other damage. Additionally, pushing or towing starting may cause the catalytic converter to overheat and create a fire hazard.
The engine does not turn over or turns over slowly with the starter

1. On a vehicle with an automatic transmission, make sure the selector lever is in the "N" or "P" position and that the parking brake is applied.
2. Check the reliability of the connection and the cleanliness of the battery wires.
3. Turn on the interior lighting. If the brightness of the light decreases or it goes out when the starter is turned on, this indicates that the battery is discharged.
4. Check the reliability of the wires connection to the starter.
5. Do not start the engine by pushing or towing. See subsection below "Starting the engine from an external power source".
