Operations for emergency operation
Pic. 1.8. Immobilizer warning lamp
If the immobilizer indicator lamp flashes for 5 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the «ON» (On), then the immobilizer system is faulty (pic. 1.8).
It is not possible to start the engine without carrying out the operation for emergency operation using the ignition key. The following describes the operations that must be performed to start the engine in emergency operation (the numbers 0, 1, 2, 3 are given as an example for a password).
1. To enter the password, you need to turn the ignition key to the position «ON» («On»), then to position «OFF» («Off») according to the numbers of the digits, the immobilizer warning lamp will flash. For example, to enter a number «1» turn the ignition key in this order once, for a number «2» - twice, etc. If the digit number is «0», You need to turn the ignition key in this order ten times.
2. Wait 3 to 10 seconds.
3. Enter the remaining digits of the password by following steps 1 and 2.
4. After all four digits have been successfully entered, turn the ignition key to the «ON» («On») and check that the immobilizer indicator light is on. From this moment it is necessary to start the engine within 30 s. It will be impossible to start the engine after 30 seconds.
Note. If the engine stalls while driving in emergency mode, you can start it within 8 seconds without performing any operation to switch to emergency mode.
5. If the immobilizer indicator lamp flashes for 5 seconds, you can repeat the operations for emergency operation from the beginning again.
Attention! If you fail to perform the emergency operation successfully three times in a row, you must wait about one hour before performing the operations again. If the emergency operation operations are completed successfully, but the engine does not start, have the vehicle towed to an authorized Hyundai dealer.
