Operations for emergency operation
Fig. 1.8. Immobilizer indicator lamp
If the immobilizer indicator lamp flashes for 5 seconds after turning the ignition key to the "ON" position, the immobilizer system is faulty (Fig. 1.8).
It is impossible to start the engine without performing the emergency operation operations using the ignition key. The operations that must be performed to start the engine in emergency operation mode are described below (the numbers 0, 1, 2, 3 are given as an example for the password).
1. To enter the password, you need to turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, then to the "OFF" position according to the numbers of the digits, while the immobilizer indicator lamp will flash. For example, to enter the number "1", turn the ignition key in the specified order once, for the number "2" - twice, etc. If the number of the digit is "0", you need to turn the ignition key in the specified order ten times.
2. Wait from 3 to 10 seconds.
3. Enter the remaining digits of the password, following steps 1 and 2.
4. After all four digits have been successfully entered, turn the ignition key to the "ON" position and make sure the immobilizer indicator lamp is on. From this point on, you must start the engine within 30 seconds. It will be impossible to start the engine after 30 seconds.
Note: If the engine stalls while driving in emergency mode, you can start it within 8 seconds without performing the operation to switch to emergency mode.
5. If the immobilizer indicator lamp flashes for 5 seconds, you can repeat the emergency operation mode operations again from the beginning.
Caution! If the limp home mode operations are not successfully performed three times in a row, you must wait approximately one hour before performing the operations again. If the limp home mode operations are successfully performed but the engine does not start, have the vehicle towed to an authorized Hyundai dealer.
