The tailgate can be opened and closed using a key (Fig. 1.22).
To open the tailgate, first pull the outside tailgate handle up, then lift the tailgate with your hands.

To close the tailgate, lower it down and then push it until it locks into place. To make sure the tailgate is securely locked, try lifting it again without lifting the outside handle.
