All car locks are locked and unlocked with one key. However, since the doors can be locked without a key, be careful not to leave the keys locked in the vehicle.

Note: You will not be able to disable the immobilizer system and start the engine using your own duplicate key.

Attention:
  • The immobilizer password should be written down and kept in a safe place in case you need to order other keys.
  • If you have forgotten your password, please contact your authorized Hyundai dealer.

Key numbers

The car key number is printed on a metal tag that is included with the keys when the car is handed over to the buyer.

The key number should be recorded and kept in a safe place in case additional keys are needed. Additional keys will be issued by any Hyundai dealer, for which it is enough to indicate their correct number.

For security purposes, the metal tag with the key number attached to the keys must be removed from the ring after you receive your new car and stored separately. For security reasons, Hyundai does not disclose the key number. If you need additional keys or lose your keys, the official Hyundai dealer will provide you with duplicates.

Emergency engine start

In case of a malfunction of the blocking system, the engine can only be started by switching the system to emergency mode using the ignition key.

Starting the engine in the emergency mode of the system is performed as follows: (code numbers 0, 1, 2 and 3 are given as an example).

Note: You can find out the password for switching to emergency start mode when you receive a new car. If you do not know the password, please contact your authorized Hyundai dealer.

1. To enter the first digit of the code, turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, then return it to the "OFF" position and do this the number of times corresponding to the digit you want to enter. For example, to enter the number "1" turn the key once, to enter the number "2" - twice, etc. However, to enter the number "0" you need to turn the key 10 times.

2. Wait 3-10 seconds.

3. Perform the operation of entering the next and remaining digits as indicated above in points 1 and 2.

4. The engine must be started within 30 seconds after all four digits of the code have been successfully entered. After this time, the engine cannot be started.

After using the emergency engine starting mode, contact an authorized Hyundai dealer as soon as possible.

Caution: If the engine does not start and is in limp mode, have the vehicle towed to an authorized Hyundai dealer.
